Every so often people on ActivityPub mention a particular software being
bad for X reason I always tag along for the exact same reasons, or even
comparing them to the current e-mail situation, et cetera. I always join
and express how much I hate that implementation, also does not help that
I used to fruitlessly maintain a Mastodon instance on chaotic.ninja the
past year... no wait, I think it was around April or something (my
goodness, time runs fast) like two times at least, then also recalling
my awful experience as a moderator of <https://mstdn.social> only to
then quit Fedi entirely for a whole year afterwards. 

The current trend is more or less imitating Misskey with the
quote-posts, custom emoji reactions and MFM and what not, of course,
Mastodon will not support any of that, so much that Fedibird (which is
fairly old, actually, has some of them), and then Pleroma and its forks
following suit.

...and there are a lot more that I'm not going to elaborate further, in
short, Mastodon is No Fun Allowed software by design, the perfect
Twitter/X clone, all the instance admins together are as bad if not
worse than Elon Musk could ever dare to be.
